About these projects

Several residential conversion engagements completed through Modarch (Pty Ltd) and private clients between 2021 and 2023. The brief in each case was to take old or partial 2D documentation (PDFs, scanned drawings, legacy DWGs) and produce accurate, working Revit models suitable for renovation design and construction documentation.

Representative projects

Hackett residence (Canberra ACT) - Drafting and modelling from PDF source files. Two-storey residence with hip-and-valley roof, modelled with full floor plans, elevations on all four faces (north, south, east, west), and a 3D isometric for design review.

Hall residence (NSW) - Existing dwelling plus new construction. Existing single-storey house re-modelled in Revit alongside a new addition. Full set of floor plans, elevations, and a separate roof plan integrating the new structure with the existing footprint.

Pavez Residence (Melba ACT) - Existing two-storey house with a new pergola at the rear, plus demolition of existing windows and creation of new openings to client specification. Floor plan proposed (sheet A104), elevations (sheets A106, A108), and a roof plan (sheet A105) coordinated with the proposed pergola.

Why this work matters

2D-to-Revit conversion is one of the most common reasons construction firms outsource BIM capacity. Existing buildings, heritage projects, and renovation work all start from incomplete or outdated documentation. Turning that into a clean working Revit model is unglamorous but high-value - it’s the baseline every renovation needs.

Deliverables

  • Native Revit (.rvt) model with existing conditions captured
  • Renovation overlay (proposed work distinct from existing)
  • Working drawing set (plans, elevations, sections, roof plans)
  • IFC export on request
  • PDF sheet set numbered per sheet schedule
